Magic School Bus / In The Rain Forest

1. A special holiday to celebrate the Earth is called Earth Day.

2. Chocolate comes from the beans of cocoa trees.

3. Cocoa trees grow in the Rain forest.


4.The rain forest is the home to many different kinds of insects, birds, animals and trees.

5. The sticky juice from fruit can feed several animals in the rain forest.

6. A cocoa tree must have flowers on it in order to have cocoa beans.

7. Humming birds transfer pollen/seeds from flower to flower .

8. If a flower is not pollinated it cannot make beans, fruit or pods.

9. A tiny midge fly carries pollen from one cocoa flower to another to make new bean pods.

10. A small pool of mud can be home to a variety of animals and insects.

11. Mud wallow is a home for midge flies to change from eggs to nymph to adult.

12. A peccary is a type of wild pig that lives in the rain forest.

13. The connection between all living/nonliving things is called the web of life.

14. Squirrels bury nuts for food but what they don’t eat will grow into new oak trees.

15. Survival of the rain forest depends on the web of life.
